COMMERCIAL EXPERIENCE  ·  MARITIME BACKGROUND  ·  SITE READINESS
My name is Aleksandrs Kendenkovs, and I work professionally under the name Aleks Kend. I am an industrial and commercial photographer based in Riga, Latvia, with more than 20 years of professional experience.
My work has grown from advertising, architecture, infrastructure and documentary assignments toward industrial, maritime and energy environments — where photography has to work around real operations, people, equipment and production schedules.
MARITIME & TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
MARINE ENGINEERING EDUCATION  ·  3 YEARS SEA-GOING EXPERIENCE  ·  LPG CARRIERS
Before photography became my full-time profession, I studied marine engineering and spent three years at sea working in the engine department as a marine engineer officer aboard LPG carriers.
That experience gave me first-hand familiarity with shipboard engineering systems, machinery, maintenance routines, operational procedures and the discipline required in safety-critical maritime environments.
It continues to influence the way I approach industrial and maritime photography today — with an understanding of how people, machinery, infrastructure and technical systems work together as part of a real operation.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
20+ YEARS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE · ADVERTISING · COMMERCIAL · ARCHITECTURE · DOCUMENTARY
I have worked professionally in photography since 2000, with experience spanning advertising, architecture and interiors, infrastructure and construction, corporate reportage and large-scale commercial assignments.
Over time, my work has increasingly moved toward industrial, maritime and energy environments — combining commercial image-making with a documentary approach to real people, processes and operations.

SITE READINESS & QUALIFICATIONS

CURRENT QUALIFICATIONS
EU REMOTE PILOT — OPEN CATEGORY A1/A3
Current qualifications support aerial and industrial assignments within the applicable operational, safety and site-access requirements.
OFFSHORE READINESS - IN DEVELOPMENT
A2 · ADVANCED UAS / STS  ·  OFFSHORE SAFETY  ·  MEDICAL & ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
I am continuing to develop the qualifications required for offshore wind, marine and other controlled industrial environments.
Additional project-specific safety training, medical certification, inductions and access requirements can be completed prior to mobilisation, subject to the requirements of the client, operator or site and the necessary lead time.
PROJECT SPECIFIC MOBILISATION
CLIENT  ·  OPERATOR  ·  SITE - SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Offshore and industrial projects can require different combinations of safety training, medical certification, inductions and operator-specific access requirements.
Where additional qualifications are required for a specific assignment, these can be completed ahead of mobilisation in accordance with the requirements of the client, operator or site.
WORKING AROUND THE OPERATION
SAFETY · ACCESS · PRODUCTION SCHEDULES · MINIMAL DISRUPTION
My approach is documentary and operational. I work around the activity already taking place — respecting site procedures, safety requirements and production schedules while documenting people, equipment and infrastructure with minimal disruption.
The objective is straightforward: to arrive prepared, integrate into the working environment and produce strong visual material without getting in the way of the operation.
AVIABLE FOR ASSIGNMENTS
LATVIA · BALTICS · EUROPE
Available for industrial, maritime, infrastructure and energy assignments across the Baltics and Europe, including travel and multi-day project documentation.
For offshore and controlled-site assignments, access and mobilisation requirements can be coordinated in advance.
